Dylan Roberts, the joint Managing Director of longstanding NCC member, Salop Leisure, has been named the new chairman of tourism body, MWT Cymru.
Mr Roberts, pictured right, who has 35 years' service with Salop Leisure, takes over from Rowland Rees-Evans (left) who is stepping down after eight years.
MWT Cymru represents around 600 tourism and hospitality member businesses across Powys, Ceredigion and parts of Eryri (Snowdonia) and takes on the role as part of a new leadership team following the organisation's recent annual meeting.
Mr Roberts told the meeting he was "privileged and honoured to be appointed chairman". He praised Mr Rees-Evans for his “tireless work, enthusiasm and commitment”.
He added: “I am passionate about Mid Wales and the tourism offering in Wales,” he added. “We are truly blessed to reside in and be able to welcome visitors to our beautiful region.”
Mr Roberts also sits on the Caravan and Camping Forum for Wales and is a member of the Mid Wales Regional Tourism Forum.
As well as its bases in Shrewsbury, Machynlleth and Stourport-on-Severn, Salop Leisure operates 11 caravan holiday parks and four self-catering houses in Mid Wales .
