Opposing VAT on Caravan Holiday Homes

6 weeks and counting...
Caravan Tax-Industry Already At Risk
Industry acting in concert is the only way we will influence the government to re-think its position.

Within the next 6 weeks HMRC are due to make an announcement regarding the VAT consultation, we urge you to keep the pressure on your MP.

  • Why not write again and enclose a copy of the industry response to HMRC and the KPMG impact study
  • Invite your MP to come to your business in your constituency over the next couple of weeks to explain the impact CARAVAN TAX would have on your business

In the House of Commons yesterday (22 May) almost 30 MPs from across the UK, including Graham Stuart MP and David Davis MP, handed in signed petitions on behalf of tens of thousands of constituents. The petitioners requested 'that the House of Commons urges the Government to reverse its decision to levy VAT on static caravans'.

And meanwhile, in Westminster Hall myself (John Lally) and Ros Pritchard represented our industry opposing the VAT proposals as cross party MPs attended the All Party Parliamentary Group on Tourism.

We thank you for all your support so far, the fight is not over and we must continue the momentum in the political lobby.
