The UK holiday parks operator saw a 22% rise in bookings for its seven resorts in Essex, while its Scottish resorts have seen a 7% boost.

Park Resorts, which has 39 holiday parks in the UK, also reported ‘significant’ rises in bookings in its parks in the Isle of Wight, Kent, Sussex and the north east.

Andy Edge, sales and marketing director at Park Resorts, said: ‘Whether it is down to families planning ahead more or anticipating a warmer UK summer, we are delighted they are opting for staying in Britain and holidaying with us.

'The UK is the place to be this summer, with the Olympics bringing in worldwide interest, and predictions already being made for a nicer summer, weather-wise. We sincerely hope our bookings continue to gain momentum.'
