Opposing VAT on Caravan Holiday Homes

ACT NOW! Say NO to VAT on Caravan Holiday Homes

Published on 02/04/2012

Budget proposals laid before Parliament on 21 March 2012 seek to apply VAT at standard rate of 20% on all caravan holiday homes sales from 1st October 2012.

The market is still very fragile and only making a very gradual recovery from the devastating effects of the credit crisis and subsequent recession. The HMRC proposals would have a serious and damaging effect on the financial wellbeing of the caravan holiday home industry– suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and parks would be affected.

To engage a strong political lobby campaign, we are calling upon you as a business in this industry to write to your local MP explaining the negative impact this proposal would have on your business and on the industry overall.
